BoardSnap for finance teams.

BoardSnap is an iOS app that turns the analytical whiteboarding finance professionals do — deal structures, valuation logic, budget frameworks — into structured written output in seconds.

Why finance teams pick BoardSnap

Finance work looks clean in spreadsheets, but it starts messy on whiteboards. Deal structures get diagrammed before any model is built. Budget reforecast logic gets walked through at a board before it goes into Excel. Organizational restructuring scenarios get mapped visually before anyone touches the org chart. The whiteboard is where the financial logic gets stress-tested — and where it most often disappears.

BoardSnap preserves that analytical work. Snap the deal structure diagram, the three-scenario sensitivity map, the capital allocation framework. BoardSnap AI reads the structure — the boxes, the arrows, the conditional branches, the annotated assumptions — and returns written output your team can build from or share with stakeholders.

For finance teams working across business units, portfolio companies, or deal types, Projects keep the work organized. Each deal, each budget cycle, each strategic initiative gets its own project with its own board history. Pinned context holds the deal thesis or budget mandate so every new whiteboard session runs against the right constraints.

Common finance workflows

Deal structure diagramming

Draw the transaction structure: buyer, seller, financing layers, equity waterfall, key conditions. Snap it. The summary captures the structural logic in prose — useful as a deal-summary draft before building the full model.

Budget reforecast walkthrough

Walk through the reforecast logic on the board: variance drivers, assumptions changed, impact lines. Snap it. The structured summary becomes the CFO narrative before it goes into the deck.

Sensitivity and scenario mapping

Draw the upside, base, and downside scenarios with the key input variables and outcomes. Snap it. BoardSnap AI reads the scenario structure and returns a written summary — the first draft of your scenario analysis narrative.

Capital allocation frameworks

Map the capital allocation decision tree on the board: criteria, thresholds, decision owners. Snap it. The summary becomes the investment committee framework doc — before the off-site ends.

Financial due diligence planning

Lay out the due diligence workstreams, the key risk areas to investigate, the timeline. Snap it. The structured output gives the diligence team their work plan before anyone opens a tracker.

Privacy & data handling

Perspective correction is on-device via Apple VisionKit with no external data transfer. AI summarization sends content to BoardSnap's API. For whiteboards showing material non-public information or deal-specific confidential data, review your firm's information-barrier and data-handling policies before enabling cloud summarization.

Frequently asked

Can BoardSnap capture financial models drawn on a whiteboard?

BoardSnap reads the logical structure of what's on the board — variables, relationships, decision trees, labeled boxes and arrows. For a sketched financial model, it will capture the model logic and key assumptions in prose. It won't produce a spreadsheet — but it produces the narrative that describes the model.

Is this appropriate for boards containing deal information or MNPI?

The VisionKit scan runs on-device. AI summarization sends content to BoardSnap's API over TLS. If your board contains MNPI or deal-confidential information, review your firm's policies on cloud processing of that content. When in doubt, capture without summarizing and summarize offline once cleared.

How do I organize boards across multiple deals or business units?

Projects. Each deal or business unit gets its own project with its own board history and pinned context. Nothing from Deal A appears in Deal B's project.

What file formats can I export summaries to?

BoardSnap produces text you can copy to any tool — Excel notes, Word, Outlook, Teams. Native export integrations aren't available yet; copy-paste is the current workflow.

Does it work when we're in a client's office with restricted WiFi?

Yes. Offline queue captures and stores the board on-device. Summarization syncs when you're back on a network you can use. No boards get lost due to connectivity constraints.
