BoardSnap for government agencies.

BoardSnap is an iOS app that turns government whiteboard sessions — legislative planning, regulatory rulemaking discussions, inter-department coordination — into structured written records before the room empties.

Why government teams pick BoardSnap

Government agencies operate under documentation requirements that the private sector rarely faces. Meeting records, decision rationales, and action item tracking aren't optional — they're foundational to accountability, FOIA compliance, and program continuity when personnel rotate. And yet the actual decision-making happens at whiteboards, where formal documentation is the last thing on anyone's mind.

BoardSnap makes documentation happen at the moment of the decision, not two days later from someone's incomplete notes. Snap the regulatory analysis board, the intergovernmental coordination flow, the legislative calendar. BoardSnap AI returns a structured written summary that serves as the contemporaneous record of what was decided and what needs to happen next.

For agencies with multiple program offices or divisions, Projects provide the organization layer. Each program office's whiteboard history stays in its own project — organized, traceable, and available for future reference without digging through photo rolls.

Common government workflows

Regulatory rulemaking planning

Map the rulemaking timeline: NPRM drafting, comment period, agency review, final rule. Mark the key stakeholder consultation points. Snap it. The summary becomes the rulemaking project plan that keeps everyone on the same track.

Legislative calendar and priority planning

Draw the legislative session calendar, the priority bills, the committee hearing schedule, the agency testimony requirements. Snap it. The structured output gives legislative affairs staff their priority work plan for the session.

Emergency management and continuity planning

Map the emergency response framework on the board: agency roles, activation thresholds, communication protocols, resource staging. Snap it. The summary becomes the continuity plan starting point — captured while the experts are in the room together.

Grant program design

Design the grant program structure on the board: eligibility criteria, application requirements, scoring framework, award timeline. Snap it. The structured summary gives the program office their grant design brief before the NOFO drafting begins.

Inspector General and audit preparation

Map the program's audit risk areas, evidence packages, and response strategy on the board. Snap it. The summary gives the audit response team a clear picture of the scope and priority before the IG fieldwork begins.

Privacy & data handling

VisionKit runs entirely on-device — no external data transfer during perspective correction. AI summarization sends content to BoardSnap's API over TLS. BoardSnap is not FedRAMP authorized. For classified materials or CUI requiring specific handling, do not use the cloud summarization feature. Most strategic planning and program management whiteboard sessions don't involve classified or CUI content — for those, BoardSnap operates without restriction. On-device capture only is available without triggering summarization.

Frequently asked

Can BoardSnap summaries serve as official government records?

BoardSnap summaries are working documents — a starting point for formal records, not a substitute for them. Use the summary as the first draft of a meeting record that goes through your agency's records management process. Don't treat a BoardSnap output as an official record without that review step.

What about FOIA requests for meeting materials?

BoardSnap summaries stored in the app are on your iPhone, not in a government records management system. If your agency has FOIA obligations, summaries used in official decision-making should be documented in your official records system — BoardSnap can help you generate that text, but your records manager needs to know where final records live.

Is BoardSnap FedRAMP authorized?

No. BoardSnap is not FedRAMP authorized. For FedRAMP-required environments, the cloud summarization feature is not compliant. The on-device VisionKit scan does not involve external data transfer and doesn't trigger FedRAMP applicability.

Does it work for field office staff away from headquarters?

Yes. Offline queue captures on-device and syncs when connectivity returns. Field offices and remote locations with poor connectivity aren't a barrier — boards are never lost due to network outages.

Can multiple people in the same agency share a project?

Each BoardSnap account manages its own projects today. Multi-user project sharing is on the roadmap. The current workflow is: snap, copy the summary, distribute via email or shared drive.
