## What neither Lens nor OneNote does
Neither tool:
- Summarizes the whiteboard content
- Identifies action items from the text
- Understands arrows, dependencies, or diagram relationships
- Tracks task status over time
The OCR output is raw text in the order it appears, not a structured interpretation. If the board has a decision log on the left, action items on the right, and a timeline at the bottom, OneNote OCR gives you all three interleaved, and you sort it out.
## When the OCR alone is enough
For archival and search, OneNote's OCR pipeline is excellent and already built into your Microsoft 365 subscription. If your goal is "can I find what was on the board from three months ago," OneNote wins on integration.
