Whiteboard to text on iPhone — three methods.

## Method 1: Apple Live Text (no extra app)

Built into iOS 15 and later:

1. Open the Camera app and point it at the whiteboard
2. Tap the Live Text icon (scan lines) in the viewfinder — text highlights appear
3. Tap Select All and Copy
4. Paste anywhere

Alternatively, take the photo first, open it in Photos, then tap the Live Text icon at the bottom right.

Pros: No setup, no app, instant, free. Cons: No perspective correction before OCR; output is raw unstructured text.

## Method 2: Microsoft Lens (better whiteboard OCR)

1. Open Microsoft Lens, select Whiteboard mode
2. Align the board — Lens auto-detects edges
3. Tap the shutter
4. Choose export: Word (editable text) or OneNote (page with selectable text)
5. Open the Word document or OneNote page to access the extracted text

Pros: Whiteboard color enhancement improves accuracy on light markers; clean perspective correction. Cons: Requires Microsoft account; extra steps to get to the text.

## Method 3: BoardSnap (AI-structured output)

1. Open BoardSnap on iPhone
2. Select or create a project
3. Snap the board — VisionKit corrects perspective
4. Wait ~10 seconds for the AI to process
5. Tap Share → Copy or export the summary and action list as text

Pros: Text is organized (summary + action items), not raw; persistent project storage; AI chat available. Cons: Requires account; free tier capped at 30 boards.

## A note on perspective

Live Text and ChatGPT read whatever photo you give them — no correction. For a board photographed head-on in good light, this is fine. For angled shots (the typical conference room situation), text near the edges is distorted. Both Lens and BoardSnap apply VisionKit or equivalent correction before reading, which makes a measurable difference on wide boards.
