## The whiteboard-to-Trello symmetry
Trello's kanban board and a physical whiteboard have natural symmetry: both use columns to represent stages (To Do / Doing / Done, or custom lanes). When a team uses a whiteboard with swim lanes, snapping it with BoardSnap produces an action list that can map lane-by-lane to Trello.
## The workflow
Step 1: Snap with intention. Label your whiteboard columns clearly before the session ends. BoardSnap reads the column headers and attributes items to the correct column in its output. "Backlog", "In Progress", "Done" on the board become clear categories in the action list.
Step 2: Review the BoardSnap output. The action list is organized by the board's structure. Items from the Backlog column appear together; items from In Progress are separate. Edit anything that needs clarification.
