Use case

Sketch the discovery call. CRM-ready notes in ten seconds.

BoardSnap is an iOS app that reads discovery call whiteboard notes and turns pain points, qualification signals, objections, and next steps into a structured account record ready to paste into your CRM.

The problem

Great discovery calls produce a lot of information. Pain points, buying triggers, budget signals, stakeholder maps, competitive mentions, next steps. The best discovery practitioners sketch all of this in real time — on a whiteboard if they're in person, on paper if remote.

Then comes the CRM entry. The most-hated fifteen minutes in sales. Translating messy call notes into clean CRM fields, follow-up tasks, and a next-step record. Every minute between the call and the CRM entry is signal that evaporates.

BoardSnap compresses the gap.

The workflow

  1. Set up a discovery sketch template

Before the call, sketch the sections on the board: Pain Points / Buying Triggers / Budget / Timeline / Stakeholders / Objections / Next Steps. Blank sections you'll fill in during or after the call.

  2. Fill in during the call

Key phrases, not full sentences. 'Pain: manual reporting, 4hrs/week.' 'Trigger: auditor requested it.' Shorthand is fine — BoardSnap reads context from the section labels.

  3. Add qualification signals

Mark qualification dimensions explicitly: Budget (Y/N/TBD), Authority (who's the economic buyer?), Need (specific pain identified?), Timeline (when do they need to decide?). Clear signals become qualification flags in the output.

  4. Sketch the stakeholder map

Who's involved? Draw a simple org-chart-style map: champion, economic buyer, technical evaluator, blocker. Relationships between stakeholders are worth capturing — 'champion reports to buyer, no direct access yet.'

  5. Write the explicit next steps

Two columns: what YOU do next (send pricing, schedule demo, intro to SE) and what THEY do next (get budget approval, loop in CTO). Both sides of the next step are action items.

  6. Snap after the call

Immediately after hanging up. BoardSnap reads the sections, fills in the structured account record, and generates action items for every next step.

What you get

A structured account record: pain points summary, buying triggers, qualification signals (BANT or MEDDIC dimensions), stakeholder map with roles and relationships, objections raised, and a two-sided next step list (rep actions and prospect commitments). Paste directly into Salesforce, HubSpot, or any CRM. Action items are tri-state for tracking.

Real examples

Enterprise discovery call

A forty-five minute discovery call with a Fortune 500 prospect. The rep's board sketch captured six pain points, a complex four-person stakeholder map, and a conditional next step ('only if budget approved by CFO'). BoardSnap's record was in the CRM within two minutes of the call ending.

Inbound demo request follow-up

A quick discovery-before-demo call. The board captured the three reasons the prospect requested the demo, two qualification gaps (budget unconfirmed, timeline unclear), and next steps. The CRM record showed the deal as qualified-with-gaps — accurate enough to drive the right follow-up.

Frequently asked

Can I use BoardSnap for notes on a physical notepad, not a whiteboard?

Yes. BoardSnap reads any written surface — whiteboards, paper notepads, notebooks. The VisionKit perspective correction is optimized for whiteboards, but flat paper notes snap cleanly too. Just hold the camera steady.

Is this useful for SDRs doing short qualification calls?

Yes — especially for SDRs. A short qualification call produces exactly the information that needs to be logged: pain point confirmed/denied, budget range, next step type. A thirty-second whiteboard sketch snapped immediately after the call is faster than any CRM form.

What if the discovery call was remote and I didn't have a whiteboard?

Use paper. Write the section labels and fill them in during or after the call. Paper on a flat surface snaps just as well as a whiteboard — just make sure the lighting is decent and hold the camera flat over the notes.

Can the BoardSnap project accumulate multiple discovery calls from the same account?

Yes. Put all snaps from an account into the same project. The project AI chat can then synthesize: 'What has this prospect said about budget across all our conversations?' — useful for deal reviews and forecasting calls.
