Pausing a BoardSnap subscription — what's actually possible.
Short answer
BoardSnap subscriptions are managed through Apple's App Store, and Apple does not currently support a native "pause" feature for subscriptions. Your options are to cancel before your next billing date and resubscribe when you're ready, or to keep the subscription active.
## Why there's no pause button
BoardSnap is an iOS app, and subscription billing runs entirely through Apple's in-app purchase system. That's Apple's infrastructure — not a custom billing setup — and Apple does not offer a pause option for auto-renewable subscriptions.
This is an Apple platform constraint, not a BoardSnap policy decision.
## What you can do instead
Cancel before the next renewal date. Your Pro access continues through the end of the paid period. If you cancel today and your billing renews in 12 days, you keep Pro for those 12 days, then drop to free.
Resubscribe when you're ready. When you come back, tap Subscribe in the app. Your existing projects and boards are preserved. Nothing is deleted when you cancel — you just lose the Pro features (unlimited projects, boards, and AI chat) until you resubscribe.
Yearly plan = built-in pause window. At $69.99/year, the Pro Yearly plan gives you 12 months of access for the cost of about 7 monthly subscriptions. If your work is seasonal (intense for 4 months, quiet for 8), the yearly plan can be a better fit than managing monthly cancellations.
## How to cancel
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone
- Tap your name at the top
- Tap Subscriptions
- Find BoardSnap and tap it
- Tap Cancel Subscription
Alternatively, go to the App Store, tap your profile icon, tap Subscriptions, and manage BoardSnap from there.
## Will my data survive a cancellation?
Yes. Your projects, boards, summaries, and action items stay in your account. You won't be able to snap new boards or use AI chat beyond the free tier limits, but nothing is deleted.
