Short answer
BoardSnap stores each user's boards, summaries, and action items in a private, isolated database row. BoardSnap does not train AI models on your data. Camera capture runs on-device via Apple VisionKit, and AI analysis is processed through third-party APIs (Anthropic Claude and/or OpenAI) under standard data processing agreements.
## What happens to your data
Every board you snap, every summary BoardSnap generates, and every action item list lives in your account's database row. No other user can read your boards. There is no shared content pool.
On-device capture. Apple VisionKit runs the perspective correction and initial image processing entirely on your iPhone's Neural Engine. Your raw photo does not leave the device during this step.
AI analysis. When BoardSnap generates a summary or action items, the processed board image is sent to an AI API (Anthropic Claude or OpenAI). These are standard, contractual API relationships — not free-tier consumer products. Under those agreements, your inputs are not used to train their models.
Storage. Board data is stored in Supabase, a managed Postgres platform with row-level security. Your data is logically isolated from other users' data at the database level.
## Does BoardSnap sell your data?
No. BoardSnap does not sell, share, or license user data to third parties. The only data that leaves your device goes to the AI API for processing and to the database for storage.
## What about brand context?
When you paste your website URL to enable brand-aware summaries, BoardSnap fetches and processes that URL to extract brand voice and terminology. That content is stored in your project and used only to personalize your summaries — not shared with other users or used for training.
## Pinned notes and project chat
Pinned context and AI chat messages are stored in your project and sent to the AI API as part of the conversation context. They are not visible to other users.
## GDPR / CCPA
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing [email protected]. The privacy policy at boardsnap.ai/privacy covers the full data handling commitments.
## Summary
BoardSnap is not a consumer toy with loose data practices. Capture is on-device, storage is isolated, AI processing is through contracted APIs, and your data is never used to train models.

Can my employer see my BoardSnap boards?
No. Each account's boards are private. There is no enterprise admin console that lets someone else view your boards today.
