Use case

Five days. Twenty whiteboards. One BoardSnap project.

BoardSnap is an iOS app that captures every artifact from a Google Ventures-format design sprint — from the Monday map to Friday test — so nothing gets erased between sessions.

Download on the App Store Free to start. Pro from $9.99/mo or $69.99/yr.

The problem

A design sprint generates roughly twenty to thirty distinct whiteboard artifacts across five days. Monday's How Might We notes and goal map. Tuesday's solution sketches and lightning demos. Wednesday's storyboard. Thursday's prototype plan. Friday's test observations.

Each day, you're building on the previous day's artifacts. Each day, there's a risk that something critical gets erased, lost, or misremembered. And at the end of the sprint, you need to report out: what was the sprint question, what did you test, what did you learn?

BoardSnap becomes the sprint's running record — snap at the end of each session, accumulate the whole sprint in one project.

The workflow

  1. Monday: map and HMW notes

Snap the long-term goal, the sprint question, the user journey map, and the How Might We sticky notes after clustering and voting. Multiple snaps are fine — the project accumulates all of them.

  2. Tuesday: sketches

Snap each person's four-panel sketches, the lightning demo notes, and the crazy-eights outputs. Even rough sketches are worth capturing — they document the full solution space.

  3. Wednesday: decision board

Snap the art museum wall of sketches, the heat map (dot votes), and the storyboard after it's finalized. The storyboard snap is the most critical of the week.

  4. Thursday: prototype plan

Snap the prototype division of labor, the scene list, and any copy or flow decisions made on the board.

  5. Friday: test notes

Snap the observation board organized by user and theme. Snap the final debrief board where the team clusters findings and identifies patterns.

  6. Sprint report out

Use the BoardSnap project AI chat to synthesize: 'Summarize the sprint from goal to findings.' It reads every board in the project and produces the sprint report narrative.

What you get

A complete five-day sprint record organized chronologically: Monday artifacts (goal, map, HMW clusters), Tuesday artifacts (solution space), Wednesday artifacts (storyboard), Thursday artifacts (prototype plan), Friday artifacts (user test findings). The project AI chat generates the sprint report on request.

Real examples

Product direction sprint

A startup used a design sprint to answer 'how should we onboard enterprise customers?' Twenty-three whiteboards captured across five days. The BoardSnap project report became the board presentation — the founding team walked investors through the sprint results using the AI-generated summary.

Agency client sprint

A design agency ran a sprint with a client team. BoardSnap's project gave the agency a complete record for the client file — and the client a clean summary to share internally without having been present for every session.

Frequently asked

How many boards should I expect across a full design sprint?

Typically fifteen to thirty, depending on team size and how many solution sketches are captured individually. The Pro tier's unlimited boards is the right choice for a full design sprint.

Should I snap during the day or at the end of each session?

End of each major working block is best. Don't wait until the end of the day — boards get modified throughout the day. Snap each artifact at the moment it's considered 'done' for that session.

Can BoardSnap read the storyboard panels?

Yes. BoardSnap AI reads text-labeled sketch panels in sequence. For best results, label each storyboard panel with a scene number or title. The output describes each panel and the flow between them.

Does BoardSnap replace the sprint report?

It accelerates it. The project AI chat generates a first-draft report from the accumulated boards. A human editor adds context, images, and stakeholder framing — but the factual summary of the sprint is already there.
