How BoardSnap learns your brand — one URL, every summary.
Short answer
BoardSnap learns your brand by fetching and analyzing your website URL. Paste the URL once into your project settings — BoardSnap reads the page, extracts tone signals, vocabulary, and terminology, and applies that brand voice to every summary it generates for boards in that project.
## The setup: one URL
In your project settings, there's a Brand URL field. Paste your company's website (homepage, about page, or a public-facing brand page). Tap Save.
BoardSnap sends a request to that URL, fetches the page content, and runs an AI pass that extracts:
- Tone markers — how formal or casual, how direct or explanatory, how concise or expansive
- Vocabulary — which words appear consistently, which terms are specific to the company or industry
- Brand personality — confident, warm, technical, conversational — whatever signals emerge from the writing
- What to avoid — language patterns that contradict the brand voice
This brand model is stored in the project and used every time a new board is analyzed.
## What changes in your summaries
Without brand context: "The team discussed next steps for the product launch, including finalizing copy, completing QA, and scheduling the announcement."
With brand context (for a direct, builder-voice company): "Ship copy this week. QA closes Friday. Announce Tuesday — no slip."
Same content, different voice. The brand-aware summary sounds like someone from your team wrote it, not a generic AI.
## How precise is the brand learning?
BoardSnap extracts signals from a single page — not a comprehensive style guide. The result is directionally accurate: it picks up your general tone and common vocabulary. It won't perfectly replicate a meticulously crafted brand voice from a single URL.
For best results:
- Use an About page or mission page (usually densely written in brand voice)
- Supplement with pinned context notes if there are specific terms or styles to enforce
- If the brand URL changes (rebrand), update the project URL and BoardSnap will re-learn
## Is this a Pro feature?
Yes. Brand-aware summaries are a Pro feature. Free tier boards include AI summaries but without brand personalization.
Frequently asked
Can I use a competitor's URL to learn from their brand voice?
Technically you can paste any public URL. The use case BoardSnap is designed for is your own brand — so your summaries sound like your company, not like someone else's.
Does BoardSnap re-fetch my URL automatically over time?
Not automatically. If your brand voice evolves, open the project settings and tap the refresh/re-fetch button next to the URL to update the brand model.
See it work in ten seconds.
