Editing action items in BoardSnap — one tap, inline.
Short answer
To edit an action item in BoardSnap, tap the item to open its detail view. From there you can edit the text, change the state (open / in-progress / done), add or remove subtasks, assign it to someone, or set a due date. Changes save automatically.
## Why editing matters
BoardSnap AI's first pass is good — but it's not sacred. Handwriting is sometimes misread, verbal decisions don't make it onto the board, and what was written is sometimes abbreviated in ways that need expansion.
Every action item is fully editable, inline, any time. The AI produces a starting point; you own the final list.
## How to edit
Quick text fix:
- Tap the action item text directly
- The text field becomes editable
- Fix the text, tap Done or tap away to save
Change state:
- Tap the state indicator (circle, half-fill, or checkmark) to cycle through states
- Or open the item and select the state explicitly
Edit in detail view:
- Tap the item to open its full detail view
- Edit the title, add notes, set due date, add assignee, manage subtasks
- All changes save as you make them — no separate Save button
## What you can edit
- Title text — the main action item description
- Notes — additional context or clarification not visible from the item title
- State — open, in-progress, done
- Assignee — a name or role for accountability
- Due date — optional deadline for the item
- Subtasks — add, remove, or edit auto-generated subtasks; add new ones manually
## Adding action items that weren't on the board
Decisions sometimes get made verbally, not written on the board. After the analysis, use the Add button to create new action items manually. They live in the same list as the AI-generated ones.
Frequently asked
Can I undo an edit if I make a mistake?
Standard iOS undo (shake to undo or the undo button) works for text edits. State changes don't have an explicit undo — just tap the state indicator to cycle back.
Can I delete an action item?
Yes. Swipe left on the item or open the item detail and use the delete option. Deleted items are removed from the list.
